• Founded with R7 million of capital
• Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc (“DLJ”) acquires a strategic interest
1996
• First capital raising of R300 million
• Private equity business commenced with R400 million fund, namely AMB Southern Africa Investors I
1997
• Banking licence granted
• R100 million capital raised for AMB’s listing on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange (“JSE”)
• Independently rated most successful listing of 2007
• Debt and treasury businesses commence
1998
• Second private equity capital raising of R485 million
• AMB DLJ Securities brokerage business formed as a joint venture with DLJ
1999
• Listing of AMB Private Equity Partners on the JSE
• AMB rights offer raises R272 million
